I was scared to enlist myself in the world of blogging because I had this outlandish perception of who and what a blogger was. I believed they were extremely anti-social people, who would stay in their dark rooms all day, typing intenesly on their computers about highly social and political topics that they had strong views on, and would snap at any second if some naive know-it-all would try to dissagree with what they had to say. I know, it’s ridiculous, but I guess I have been sheltered and let the powerful world of film and television influence me.
Starting this blog was much easier than I thought. I am completely technologically illiterate, but everything was step by step; even a monkey could do it! I was utterly shocked.
I always thought blogging was unnecessary; why can’t someone just speak up and protest what they wanted heard. I was stupid to think that. Blogging allows those who are too scared to show their face let them say what they need to say. It allows millions of people to read that one persons statement and views. It can help initiate movements and ideologies.
It feels great to be involved and active in your community, even if it is just behind a computer screen. I feel like the hamster in my head is finally running on the wheel again. It is amazing how much you can learn from reading other bloggers posts, and how much you can learn about yourself from writing. It is completely easy and allows anyone to babble about what ever the heck they want; the topics are limitless. It is kind of therapeutic in a way; it helps us get things off our chest, and into the vast cyber world.
